Caversham Labour Campaigns Against NHS Bill

Campaigning in St Martins Precinct, Caversham We received a great response from Christmas shoppers in St Martins Precinct in Caversham centre on Saturday at our stall where we campaigned against the NHS Bill currently going through parliament.  Many people signed our petition urging the Coalition Government to drop the bill.

You might have seen similar stalls in shopping centres throughout Reading.  Altogether, hundreds of local people expressed their support.

The National Health Service was founded in 1946 by the Labour government of the time under Clement Atlee.  Ever since,  the British people have treasured their publicly funded healthcare system.   The current NHS Bill steadily and stealthily advances the privatisation of public healthcare on several fronts.   We think it’s dangerous, ideologically driven and a waste of a huge amount of money at a time when every penny of public funds is vital.
